“If you help others grow, then we all rise
and grow together to higher levels.”
~ Mike Otto, CEO
For many years, Mike Otto has committed his company, Fair & Square Remodeling, to helping a number of nonprofit organizations around the greater Twin Cities area. Mike and his dedicated team give of their time to fight against generational poverty, homelessness and inequalities in public education. As Fair & Square Remodeling grows, so does its commitment to the community at large.
To break the intergenerational chains of poverty, Mike strongly believes you must change how you think, and education is a large part of that. Not only do we believe it is a basic human right, but also that education is necessary to forming development goals in children. In an effort to make a small change, Mike facilitated the delivery of over 4,000 dictionaries to inner-city schools through the Minneapolis Rotary.
Mike has also taken the lead on the First Covenant Church Construction Outreach through Urban Homeworks, a nonprofit organization that provides dignified housing for low-income families. By providing affordable housing to those in need, the hope is to transform and stabilize neighborhoods around the Twin Cities area.
Believing that a community of others is essential to his own personal growth, Mike founded the True North Support Group. True North is a safe place for professional men to support each other in the challenges and obstacles that often get in the way of their lives and careers. Members learn to accept rather than judge, and celebrate the differences inherent in people that enrich our lives.
