Let me just suggest that if there was a Kitchen Fairy, that poor creature would be worked into the ground. Ask any woman in America what she would change about her kitchen, and it would be a lot like pressing “download” on lightning fast broadband: the list would be rapid fire fast, detailed and emphatic. Why do so many people want to change their kitchens? What would they change? And why aren’t they changing them?
Let’s start at the beginning. First, there was fire. Even the caveman realized the importance of giving fire its own space within the cave. Ventilation would come later, but the cave dwellers huddled their families around the cooking fire for warmth and conversation – thus inventing the Family Room as well.
Millions of years later, we are still incorporating the Family Room and Open Kitchen as the very heart of the home. Hence, the number one FUNCTION of the kitchen is that of the Nerve Center of the Home. Most of those people polled above would answer that they would love a larger, more open, and more functional Kitchen. The rest would ask for a more modern kitchen, an upgraded kitchen, or more help within the kitchen.
Let’s take the next step: Where do I start? WITH A LISTENER!
I can do that. Call Mike Otto to hear your Wish List. Tell him what you wish your kitchen did that it does not do now. He can tell you what that change might cost, and then you can decide when to do it. So far, you’ve spent nothing, and you’re a WHOLE lot closer to your Dream Kitchen!
Most of us don’t make changes because we think it will cost too much, or involve too much change. Mike can tell you how much it will cost, where dollars can be saved, or how the project could be accomplished over time. That manages both hurdles, and gets your Nerve Center functioning at Full Capacity.
Then, you can worry about the important things – like what’s for dinner.
